"Winter Scenes"

Welcome to MFP a Heinrich Co's last day at the hop!!!!!  Today's release is awesome with soooooo many ways to use this stamp set.  My first project is a set of note cards. I am not sure if this set is going to be a gift or if I am going to use them myself for notes!

I was able to cut three cards size 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 from an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of MFP Premium white CS.  The music panels were cut 1 3/4 wide. I added some pretty lacey borders with a Martha Stewart border punch and  embellished!

In case I decide to keep them as notes for my use, I embellished each card to correspond with the date I will need to send a note to my daughter's chorus teacher.

December's embellishment is a snowman ornament.  I folded back the cord on the snowman so it can be popped off and used.  Fun find: I picked these up at Hobby Lobby in the "mini Christmas Tree" section.  They are sold 6 to a pack and  at half off they only cost me about 16 cents each!

January has a snowflake....where we live...snow?  Probably not...but a fun embellishment anyway.

February has .....hearts of course!!!!

My last card is a Christmas card for my husband!  I found this cute wooden banjo while we were in TN this October.  I stamped the holly using the small holly stamp from"Holly Jolly Greetings".
I ran out of time so I couldn't work on the inside of the card but I am going to put a black silhouette of a cat on the inside.  Our little Storm runs upstairs and plunks herself down to listen when my husband plays his banjo!!!!

I just wanted to give you another view of this terrific stamp.   This is the stamped panel before adding the rest of the items to the card.  What I love about it is that I no longer have to search for just the right music sheet to match my project, I can make my own!   I can't wait to try a die cut from one of my own stamped music sheets!

Thanks so much for choosing to spend some of  your time with me this week!   If you pop back tomorrow I will have inspiration for this week's Speedy Fox & Friends challenge!

Just a Note
I am entering the collection of Note cards in Simon Says Stamp blog challenge - Anything Goes showcasing Martha Stewart (I used MS snowflake punch and MS border punch)

It's day 3 of MFP a Heinrich Co.'s blog hop!  I hope you have enjoyed all the beautiful creations so far.  Today's featured stamp set is Mountain Selections.  This is a cutey!  There are 29 mini stamps in this set!  The possibilities are endless!

I stamped the bear first.  Then masked him off and added the tees around him.  The sentiment is from the stamp set: "North American Woods".  To the sentiment banner I added a mini bear and a tree.

I made a little scene for the inside of the card leaving some white space on the bottom to write a little message.

I made this card a few weeks ago using the stamp set "On the fly" but I wanted to include it here so you could see just how awesome the "Mountain Selections" stamp set is.  Notice on the right edge of the circle...I stamped and cut out one of the small deer and placed him in the scene!

Thanks so much for looking!!  I hope you will hop along and see the beautiful creations the designers have made for you!

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the blog hop for Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co!! Today's feature is "Big City".

I knew right off that I wanted to make this a "New Year" card and add twine pom poms.  I first saw the pom poms used on a card in a Paper Crafts magazine this spring.

I heat embossed the buildings with silver EP.  The twine is actually a very inexpensive "friendship" twine I found at Walmart.  I spritzed the card with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spray (difficult to see from this angle)   I added  gems to the card above but the card below does not have gems.  My daughter likes it better without the bling.... I will let you be the judge!

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure to visit the rest of the designers for some fabulous inspiration, leave some love and you just might win today's stamp set!

Mini and 5th set for MFP a HC November Blog Hop

Happy Monday!  This is going to be a fun week full of inspiration!  It's blog hop week at MFP a Heinrich Co.   Today we are featuring the mini stamp set and the 5th set for the month of November.

Come on back tomorrow and the rest of the week for loads of inspiration and a chance to win a stamp set!!!!

Today I am going to share two cards.  The first is using the mini stamp set: "Oh Deer!"

I kept this fairly simple because this card will probably go to my husband and he likes my cards when they are simple!   I stamped and cut out the deer so I could pop him up.  One of my favorite techniques is to glue down the bottom portion of the image (in this case the legs) then pop up the upper portion with foam squares.  The design of this deer is perfect for cutting out and even adding more dimension by gently curling the antlers forward.  I didn't show this card to my husband but I  have shelf in here where I display my cards for a few days after creating them.  My husband came in to chat with me and saw it and said, "Now this one, I like!"

My second card uses the stamp set "Winter Scenes".

This gorgeous stamp set features two large stamps, three snowflakes and several gorgeous sentiments!  I chose to work with the ornament stamp for this card.  I stamped the image on gold card stock, colored in the snowflakes and trees then added glitter to the inner circle.  The lace oval behind the sentiment is actually a circle that I cut apart and put back together to form the oval.

Here is a closer look at the glittery ornament!

Thanks for looking!  Have a great week!

FOSTV 46 - Thanksgiving

Good morning everyone!!!  It's Thanksgiving week!  Do you celebrate all week long?  We are in the habit of doing just that but this is going to be a different sort of year for us.  This year my husband is working days for the first time in 22 years but the trade off is that he doesn't get to choose holiday "weeks" like he has previously.  I STILL LOVE having him on days so no complaining here just a bit of an adjustment.  He will be home Thanksgiving day so that is what is really important!

So what's the challenge at FOSTV this week, you might ask?  THANKSGIVING!  Show us your Thanksgiving cards!  You can find all the info and the beautiful inspiration from the DT HERE .

I made this Thanksgiving card using MFP a Heinrich Co sets: Autumn Splendor and Christmas Selections. I popped up the pumpkin and then popped up the cardinal.  I keep finding fun uses for this Cardinal stamp!  I used the last of this Thanksgiving ribbon that I purchased last year.

I made 4 of these...........

Thanks for looking and if you celebrate the day I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!  For those of you that don't celebrate then I wish you a great week!

Speedy Fox & Friends - Pop it up

It's Saturday!  Can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week?  Even though Thanksgiving is around the corner, I have a Christmas card to share!  I mentioned on a previous post that I challenged myself to 5 Christmas Cards a month....so even though it's Thanksgiving, It's Christmas that I am sharing with you today!   Our challenge this week at Speedy Fox & Friends is to "pop it up", so have fun and pop up some elements on your cards this week.  Check out the DT inspiration and all the info on the challenge Here .

I actually used stamps from 4 MFP a Heinrich Co. sets: Holly Jolly Greetings, Poinsettia Blooms, Snow Gifts mini, and Christmas Selections!

I popped up the snowflakes and the sentiment on the outside of the card........

I struggled with the photography on these next 3 photos but here goes!  When the card is opened ..........we have a pop-up spiral.

Snowpeople.....
Birds............

A view trying to catch it all.....

Thanks for looking and have a GREAT weekend!

FOSTV 46 - Scrapbook Page

It's a brand new week and we have a brand new FOSTV challenge to talk about!  Our challenge this week is to make a scrapbook page!

Well..........I have never made a scrapbook page before.  I have purposely stayed away from scrapbook layouts because of the many steps.   Much to my surprise this project came together pretty easily and really didn't take much more time than making a  card!  I hope you will give this week's challenge a try whether you are an expert scrapper  or  a novice like me!!!!  You can check out all the info and lovely designs the DT have created HERE.

Before we had kids my husband and I would take almost 2 weeks in the Fall for a combo trip of backpacking, camping and 3 days in Pigeon Forge!  We can't do that anymore but we did squeeze in four days in early October this year for a Smokey Mtn/Pigeon Forge trip!    A drive up to a trailhead in the Smokeys took us by a bear sleeping in a tree and several more foraging in the woods next to the car!  We hiked the Clingman's Dome trail which is where the photos of the kids and my husband were taken and to top it all off we went to Dollywood.  Our son went on his first roller coaster rides and still isn't sure if he really liked them!!   Even though it was rainy and cool on our little vacation it was truly a magical trip I won't soon forget...and now thanks to our FOSTV challenge I have created a memory page to keep it all fresh!

To make this page I used the leaf stamp from MFP a Heinrich Co. "Autumn Glory"  and the letters "F-A-L-L" from "Autumn Splendor" .  TFL and have a great week!!!

Stamp sets used to make this layout:

Speedy Fox & Friends 133 - add a fence

Hello!  I hope you all had a great week. It's Saturday and that means it's time to chat about this week's fun Speedy Fox & Friends challenge: add a fence.  Don't have a fence die, punch, or a stamp with a fence?   You can create one by using strips of paper or use a decorative border in the middle of your card like our very talented designer, Patty did with her Christmas card.  You can see all the inspiration and information on the challenge HERE!

I used MFP a Heinrich Co.  "Tweet That" stamp set for this card.  I put the bird house on a "pole" by running brown card stock through the wood grain embossing folder and then cutting it to fit.  I thought it might be fun to add the little flower bud onto the sentiment so I cut it out of a scrap of the DP.

Thanks for looking and reading my rather lengthy post today!!!
