The Cat Ate my Design Work?

The Cat Ate My Design Work?

I created today's project earlier in the week and then set it on the art supply drawers for display until I photographed it.  Today when I went to photograph the card, NO card.  I looked all around.  I knew it had been there and I also knew my Stormageddon had knocked some things over a few days ago and made a place for herself.

I searched all over the floor but no card.  Blog post due Saturday morning, no card.  It was the proverbial "dog ate my homework" story only it was my cat and I knew she hadn't eaten it so what did she do with it!  I finally found it in a drawer, apparently, she knocked it off when the drawer was open and I shut it without realizing it had fallen.  Oh, the joys of sharing space with a cat!  So without further ado let's check out this week's card featuring Spencer's Set from The Project Bin!

All of us at The Project Bin have featured projects for Autism Awareness Month throughout the month of April.  Each time I wrote up my blog and looked up facts to share regarding ASD I thought of my very dear friend who has a daughter affected by PWS. PWS is a complex genetic disorder affecting appetite, growth, metabolism, cognitive function and behavior.  PWS has many symptoms but one of the most challenging and potentially life-threatening is that the brain acts as though it is in “starvation mode” and doesn’t register satiety.  Click here:  PWSAUSA for more info regarding PWS and how you can help!

With my friend in my thoughts this month, I thought I would create a card with the colors for PWS.  Traditionally the orange ribbon has been associated with PWS but currently red is also being used so for my card I chose Orange and Brilliant Red Brusho Crystal Colours for my layers.

One thing that brings us all together regardless of the syndrome, disorder, etc is love!  Love needs no words!

All month long Spencer's Set has been sold at the introductory price of $8.00 but you only have thru Sunday to grab your set at this great price as the set goes up to $10.00 on Tuesday.  A portion of the profits will be donated to the Autism Research Institute!

Check out this great set with four fun sentiments!
I used the heart die from In My Heart for perfectly smooth cutting around the heart!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hanging in there to the end of this post!!! :)
Have a great weekend!

Criss Cross #bff with The Project Bin

Happy Weekend everyone!  Today I have a fun fold to share with you featuring the fun #bff  stamp set from The Project Bin!  I have had a lot of fun this week trying new things and today I am sharing a fun fold I have not tried before.

I played along with F4A374 and created my first Criss Cross card.  This is a really fun fold and easy to do!  I think the #bff stamp is such fun with the circular design!

For the inside, I added another fun sentiment from the #bff stamp set and topped it off with a bow leaving enough room for a personalized greeting!

I am always so curious about what everyone else is doing!
Leave me a comment and let me know what was the most recent NEW- to you-
technique or fold you have tried. Did you like the result?  Put a link in the comments and I will come over and check it out!  :)

Hugs, till next time!

Feline Good about Standing Out

Hello, everyone and happy weekend to you!  Today, I have a card to share featuring stamp sets from The Project Bin.  I stamped and die cut the cat from the Feline Good set and used a sentiment from Spencer's Set.

My daughter wasn't too sure about a pink cat but I thought the color suited this "stand out" cat and paired nicely with this wonderful Dr. Seuss sentiment from Spencer's Set.

Today I am playing along with MIX220 challenge at Splitcoasstampers.  The challenge is to make an unusual border.  I decided to create a border around my card with torn paper.  To qualify as a Mix project, I cut a frame and added modge podge then randomly adhered torn designer paper pieces to create a border, colored the cat with Copics and shaded with Inktense pencils.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look today!

Love You to Pieces with Spencer's Set

Hi there!  Happy weekend to you!  Last week I shared this fabulous set from The Project Bin to shine a light on a special cause, Autism Awareness Month.  If you missed that post I hope you will view it HERE!  As I mentioned last week, Spencer's Set is wonderfully versatile!  This week I am showcasing the versatility of Spencer's Set by featuring the heart image and one of the sentiments on a card that can be given for any occasion!

For this week's card, I used layers of bright patterned paper for the background then I stamped the heart puzzle on pink patterned paper and outlined the puzzle pieces for added dimension.  I die cut the heart with the heart die included in the In My Heart stamp set.

Here's Spencer's Set:
For the month of April, Spencer's Set will be specially priced at $8.00  After April, the price will be $10.00.  A portion of the profits will be donated to the Autism Research Institute.

This week I used the Mojo Monday 491 sketch for inspiration.

I am also playing along with F4A372 to use different sayings as inspiration.  I have covered my bases with "loving you to pieces" (I use that phrase all the time but I never stopped to think about loving someone to actual pieces, lol).  I am also featuring a pink heart for the "tickled pink" phrase.

A little info to think about......

  • Autism costs a family $60,000 a year on average
  • Boys are nearly five times more likely than girls to have autism
  • There is no medical detection or cure for autism

Near and Dear to my Heart

 Happy April to you!
Today I have the privilege of sharing the fabulous new Spencer's Set from The Project Bin to kick off Autism Awareness Month!

1 in 68

Did you know that 1 in 68 children in the U.S. is affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder? That means if your family does not have a member affected by ASD, I bet you know someone who is!

Families affected by ASD need a great deal of support and encouragement and as stampers, we love to encourage with a little "made from the heart" happy mail! Spencer's Set can be used to create unique gifts for those affected in some way by ASD but it's so versatile it can be used for ANY occasion PLUS The Project Bin is donating a portion of the profits to the Autism Research Institute!!

I hope you will stop by The Project Bin to meet Spencer and view the other awesome projects that were made with this set!!

For the background, I used an aqua brush and picked up pigment from an Inktense pencil.  I was delighted to find that my heavy weight cardstock held up to a light watercolor wash.  After the cardstock was dry I placed it between text paper and ironed it briefly to completely flatten the layer.

The heart die from the In My Heart set is a perfect fit for the heart puzzle image in Spencer's Set, how cool is that!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Here's a look at this sweet set and some links to check out!

Great suggestions of what parents of a child with ASD  would love to hear    instead of the dumb things that are often said:

A friend ... with The Project Bin

Happy Saturday everyone!!!
It's been a different kind of week around here this week.  Our son has been home for Spring Break but our daughter has been gone until almost 10 pm every night working behind the scenes for the Spring musical at school.  My routine is all over the place!  I did grab a bit of time just for me and whipped out this fun card featuring #bff and In My Heart from The Project Bin!

This week's F4A370 challenge at Splitcoaststampers is to choose a card in our Favorites gallery list.  I could play forever just CASEing all the wonderful cards in the Favorites gallery!  I chose one of Dawn's cards to CASE.  You can
check it out HERE!  I used the same sentiment from the  #bff set and the heart die from In My Heart and added colorful flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

You're a limited Edition with The Project Bin

Happy weekend everyone!
Today I am featuring the stamp set, Jukebox Birthday from The Project Bin.
Last week I had a lot of fun with this set using a distress ink watercolor background that was perfect for my daughter to give to her friend for her St. Patty's day birthday. This week I went with more white space and couldn't wait to play with the dies that are included in this fun stamp set! The dies are super easy to use.  I cannot tell a lie, my favorite die is the one that fits the atomic starbursts, I don't think I would enjoy fussy cutting them!
Just as I did last week, I created my own designer paper by randomly stamping two of the cute images on cardstock.

There are six specific recipient stamps as well as the limited-edition stamp for personalization and I love adding the stars to the center of my jukebox!

It's difficult to see from my photos but I added Wink of Stella to the die cuts.

For my design, I was inspired by Mojo Monday 488 sketch.
I hope you have enjoyed taking a look at this fun set today!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
